Sagem Wireless Binder eReader 3G
Sagem Wireless, known for mobile phones, is bringing out a touch-sensitive e-paper display Reader in July 2010. The Sagem Wireless "Binder" is a 6-inch monochrome capactive Touchscreen e-Ink Reader with ultra fast wireless connection (HSDPA Data at 3.6 Mbit/s)
The device measures 150 mm x 120 mm x 9.5mm wide and weighs 250 grams. Most formats are supported and include ePub, PDF and MP3 with an MP3 player and 3.5 mm headphone jack on board for listening. The unit has a Mini-USB connector and a SD memory card slot for expansion memory up to 32GB. A strong 1 530 mAh Li-Ion battery ensures up to two weeks of continuous usage.
Content providers have not been announced but Sagem's Binder automatically retrieves online content from newspapers and possibly auto downloads your eBooks from your computer. Sagem has built the device around it's wireless expertise and 3G WLAN connectivity is currently being negotiated with Europe's top wireless carriers so the Binder can receive data from other mobile phones & online services and eBook stores.
The price and complete specifications have not been released as Sagem prepares it's final version. A 9-inch e-Ink Reader is also planned for a 2010 release.
