The Lenovo iBook EB-605

Picture

The rumors of a  Lenovo eBook reader have been circulating for awhile now, and now we have word that it will be called the Tianji EB-605.

See that SIM card icon at the top of the display? That probably means that it supports 3G but that spec has not been confirmed. Some other features are a 400MHz Samsung ARM CPU and support for DF, CHM, EPUB, TXT, HTM, HTML, RTF, PDF, DJVU, MOBI, and PRC formats

Features include a 6-inch electronic ink display, Samsung ARM 400MHz processor, newspaper subscription, music player, picture browser and support for a variety of digital book formats. ZOL also spotted the SIM card-like icon at the top, which is an indication its wireless capabilities, and estimates a price tag of under ¥2,000 ($293)

Very little information is available for this device, not even Lenovo has a press release out yet.  No word on publishing partnerships or where e-content may come from. But there is a possibility that the Taiwanese company will release  the iBook in the United States this spring or summer.
